The City of Twin Oaks seeks a part-time, seasonal Maintenance Worker to perform semi-skilled and skilled work in a variety of public works, parks, streets, general facility maintenance and repair activities. Generally, a part-time hourly position that works an average of 25-30 hours per week with a schedule determined by the Public Works Supervisor.
This position’s duties, responsibilities, and expectations are not necessarily limited to the following and are not enumerated in any particular order or priority. At any particular time, the frequency and duration with which one or more of the following specific duties is performed may vary widely.
- Picks up and haul trash and debris from assigned areas; cleans rights-of-way; loads and unloads trucks; sweeps indoor and paved outdoor areas; removes snow from assigned areas; power washes decks, pavilions and paths in the park.
- Cuts grass and weeds; cuts and removes small trees and tree debris; prepares grounds for seeding and fertilizing; waters landscape; plants, prunes and maintains trees, flower beds and other City plantings.
- Cleans and maintains storage areas, park and office restrooms, office building, City vehicles, and equipment; performs related work as required.
- Assists with the set up and take down of City events as assigned.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
- Knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and practices used in parks, street, vehicle, and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of streets, park structures and facilities, vehicles, and equipment.
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods under adverse environmental conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 60 lbs.; climb small and large ladders.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.
- Skilled in the operation of hand and power tools.
- Skilled in the safe and efficient operation of motorized equipment, including utility task vehicles, in normal and difficult conditions.

Education and Experience:
This is an entry-level position; no previous experience is required and training will be provided as needed. Additional education in either technical/vocational school or a college/university is a plus.
Must have a valid Missouri driver license and be insurable with the City’s insurance carrier.
