Summer Park Updates

Twin Oaks Park is officially in its construction era! The Whitmore Pavilion officially closed for reservations after July 3rd and various areas of the park will be closed throughout the summer for our upcoming repair and refurbishment projects.

The first project already completed included the repair and re-sealing of the rubberized playground surface, and contracts have been awarded for the refurbishment of the tennis/pickleball court, basketball court and overlay of the park paths. Please note that the first full park closure will begin on Monday, August 3rd, and continue for several days while heavy equipment is present. During this time the park will be closed to all, including walk-in visitors.

Our engineering team is busy preparing final plans and bid documents for our Park Access Road Pedestrian Improvement Project. This project is funded through a grant from the Municipal Park Commission and will add a sidewalk, expanded turn around, and additional stormwater control to the east side of the access and parking, making the area much safer for all visitors entering and exiting parked vehicles and walking down into the park.

For the remainder of 2026, the park will experience frequent closure periods during construction, please monitor our website and social media channels for real-time updates before visiting.

Summer is the perfect season to enjoy our outdoors—and a great time to take a quick stroll around your yard for a seasonal tune-up! Keeping up with routine property maintenance not only protects your investment, but also keeps Twin Oaks safe, healthy, and beautiful for everyone.

Quick Checklist: Seasonal Reminders

• Lawn & Landscaping: Keep grass and weeds under 12 inches (unless part of a city-approved natural landscape plan). Take care of dead or diseased trees that pose a fall hazard to neighboring properties, buildings, or utilities.

• Yard Neatness & Storage: Keep yards clear of accumulated trash, junk, or brush. Store construction materials properly and elevate stacked wood at least 12 inches off the ground.

• Water & Pests: Drain standing water regularly to keep mosquitoes at bay, and handle pest issues promptly. Do not feed local wildlife. Ensure dead animals are properly disposed of within 12 hours.

• Neighborhood Courtesy: Avoid open burning of leaves or brush to keep smoke and strong odors from bothering your neighbors.

• Utilities: Promptly fix any broken sewer or water lines on your property.

Rainscaping Small Grants for Residential Projects

Did you know that MSD Project Clear, in partnership with the Missouri Botanical Garden, offers free resources to homeowners for creating beautiful and sustainable rainscaping in your yard? Using native plants and trees, rainscaping helps control run off issues at your property, supports wild life and keeps pollutants out of local waterways. Homeowners can apply for grants up to $4000 for rainscaping projects including rain barrels, lawn alternatives, permeable pavers and more. Primary Election on August 4, 2026

Make plans to vote in the upcoming Primary Election! Twin Oaks City Hall will serve as a polling place for the August 2026 Primary Elections on August 4th only. No-excuse early voting opened on July 21st at 8 am. The closest polling place for early voting is the Grand Glaize Branch of the St. Louis County Library at 1010 Meramec Station Road. Summer Yoga at City Hall continues through the end of September

By popular demand, our Yoga at City Hall sessions have been extended through summer! Join us on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 5:30 in our City Hall community room for an all levels, slow flow yoga class. Free for Twin Oaks residents.

What to bring? Just a yoga mat, a water bottle and yourself!
